NO DOGHOUSE FOR CHALMERS

Miami Heat Fil-Am head coach Erik Spoelstra has made it clear that last season’s starting point guard Mario Chalmers is not in his doghouse. Chalmers has seen action for a total of only 29 minutes during the Heat’s first seven games of the new season. Spoesltra says he is slowly bringing up Chalmers this season because the 6-1 former Kansas Jayhawk was not a hundred percent in shape during the training camp, according to the Palm Beach Post.

“Mario’s not in my doghouse. This is circumstantial. He was not ready physically to compete for the starting position during training camp and for the first game. Since then we’ve gotten into a rotation and this is what we’re going with right now.”
