KNICKS EYE EX-PBA IMPORT EARL BARRON

Former Red Bull import Earl Barron may soon find himself back into the New York Knicks fold. The 7-0 center played six games for the Barakos during the 2005 PBA Fiesta Conference and submitted norms of 27.2 points per game and 15.3 rebounds per outing. Barron is currently a free-agent after being released by the Phoenix Suns last December. Barron played seven impressive games for the Knicks late last campaign, finishing the season strong with averages of 11.7 ppg and 11.0 rpg as a backup center. Sources says Barron has a good chance in bumping off Timofey Mozgov as Knicks starting pivotman, according to the New York Post.

“Barron was a huge success late last season when he signed with the Knicks for the final seven games, averaging a double-double: 11 points and 11 rebounds. He adapted perfectly to Mike D'Antoni's system, was a good locker room guy, and would make the team less reliant on starting center Timofey Mozgov, especially in the playoffs.”
