Don’t look now but the career three-point percentage leader (.455), Anthony Morrow of the New Jersey Nets, is praying hard with hopes that the league will consider him in the Footlocker All-Star three-point shootout set on February 19 (February 20, Manila Time) at the Staples Center. The NBA will announce the participants of the said shootout contest next week. The 25 year-old North Carolina native is currently submitting norms of 12.8 points per game with .434 mark from beyond the arc on 59 conversions out of 136 attempts in 32 games so far with the Nets. With his incredible outside shooting touch, Morrow surely deserves a spot in one of the highlight events of 2011 All-Star Weekend which was won last year by Boston Celtics hotshot Paul Pierce, according to the New York Daily News.
“It's a talent that Morrow is eager to demonstrate during All-Star weekend (Feb.18-20) in Los Angeles. He has been pining for a spot for years and even created a video last season to garner attention for the bid. Morrow went through a practice round in the video, hitting 23 of 25 shots, including all the "money" balls worth an extra point.
“The Nets were planning to produce something similar. "I've been praying I get into (the contest)," Morrow said.”
