Sacramento Kings rookie DeMarcus Cousins, who had a troublesome first year this past campaign, is playing adviser to his co-University of Kentucky alumni Brandon Knight, Terrence Jones and DeAndre Liggins. The Wildcats trio is set to join the next NBA rookie draft. The 6-11 Cousins, who was the fifth over-all pick of the Kings in last year’s draft, averaged 14.1 ppg and 8.6 rpg in 81 games this season. Cousins says he gave some tips concerning the various rookie camps that Knight and company will have to attend and how they have to approach things as possible draftees, according to the Daily News Journal.
“I've talked to them. I basically just told them which was the toughest part, and that's basically what they're going through right now. You kill yourself trying to do everything right and trying to impress those (NBA) coaches, but I told them, ‘You'll never impress them, so just go out there, relax and do your thing.'”
