NOTES: ON THE MIAMI HEAT SERIES WIN OVER THE BOSTON CELTICS

(AP Photo).
Miami Heat President Pat Riley’s investment last summer is quickly paying dividends as LeBron James and Chris Bosh played vital roles together with mainstay Dwyane Wade as the Heat guns for its second championship in the last five years. The triumvirate did not disappoint.

James is our hands down choice as the MVP of the Heat-Celtics series. Consistency is the name of the game for King James, who leads the Heat in scoring and assists in the playoffs with averages of 25.3 ppg and 5.0 apg in nine contests.

James finally slew the ghost of the Boston Celtics and what a way to do it by scoring the last 10 points of game five to slam the door on Doc Rivers and his charges.  The Beantown outfit used to be the stumbling block for James and his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers during the past playoffs.

The road to prominence continues for Heat Fil-Am head coach Erik Spoelstra. Eight more wins and Spoelstra will finally nail down his first NBA championship. Spoelstra, who took over the helm of the Heat in 2008, never had a losing mark in his three regular campaigns in South Beach. He has an over-all coaching record of 148-98 or a winning mark of .602. Truly, you had made the Philippines proud once again.

Mike Bibby is one lucky guy. After signing with the Heat last March as a free-agent, the 6-1 guard out of the Univeristy of Arizona, who will be turning 33 on Friday, will have his best shot of finally winning an NBA championship on his 13th season.
