FLIP-COIN FOR MURRAY

Ronald (Flip) Murray is in a dilemma. The eight-year NBA free-agent will have to make up his mind soon. And that is whether to accept an offer from the Memphis Grizzlies or to try his luck in the lucrative Euro League with the Efes Pilsen of Turkey. The 6-4 sweet-shooting Murray has played for seven NBA teams since being drafted 13th pick over-all by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2002 draft. The former Shaw University star has career averages of 9.9 ppg, 2.1 rpg and 2.3 apg in 487 total games. Murray is still weighing his options, according to ESPN

“As the Memphis Grizzlies weigh signing free-agent guard Flip Murray, Murray is weighing European interest.

“Sources close to the situation said Tuesday that Murray -- who auditioned for the Grizzlies in a workout before Christmas -- has been offered a contract by perennial EuroLeague contender Efes Pilsen in Turkey.”

  1. This bit of news has been going on for a while now and it seems as though Murray is taking his time to decide which is the better deal of the two. For Efes Pilsen though, they are hoping that he will agree to the offer since his sweet shooting and extensive experience playing in all levels of basketball could be a huge asset for the team going into the Top 16 round.

  2. Thanks Emili for your comment. Either of the two options will be good for Flip Murray. However, I concur that he will be better off with Efes Pilsen considering the good pay and good European life. Besides, Murray will not get the playing time he expected to have with Efes Pilsen if he opt for the Memphis Grizzlies.
