It is final, Carmelo Anthony will not play for the New Jersey Nets this season. Nets Russian owner Mikhail Prokhorov has decided to pull the plug on the trade discussions for the disgruntled Denver Nuggets star forward. Prokhorov says he is not happy anymore on how the deal has gone through and many players including his team were negatively affected by the seemingly never-ending negotiations, according to Hoopsworld.
“Really, I am not happy with the way how this deal has gone until now. It has taken too long. It has been played out in public and I'm certain that it has taken a toll on the players. And I believe it has cost us several games. There comes a time when the price is simply too expensive. I'm instructing our team to walk away from the deal.”
