The Los Angeles Lakers became the latest victim of the rejuvenated Los Angeles Clippers squad. The Clippers snapped the Lakers’ seven-game winning streak with a pulsating 99-92 win on the eve of the Martin Luther King celebration. The Clippers has won four of their last five games and the transformation from mediocrity to being an up-and-coming team can all be attributed to the powerful game of a rookie monster named Blake Griffin. It is fast becoming a habit for the 2009 number one pick over-all to be on highlight reels of ESPN Sports Center every night with his out-of-this-world jams. The former University of Oklahoma star has started all his 38 games with the Clippers this season and is currently submitting norms of 22.0 ppg and 12.7 rpg. Griffin says he is tired of hearing the team’s losing tag and vowed to restore the Clippers pride, according to the Los Angeles Times.
“At the time we had won only five games and we had heard all the rumblings about us being the worst team in the NBA — blah, blah, blah. That wasn't us. We're not the worst team. We talked about having pride and stepping up. I'm tired of hearing all this stuff about what happened in the past. It was a matter of changing the culture.”
