The Utah Jazz are one of two teams (the others were the San Antonio Spurs) which I love to watch because of their fundamentally sound type of game. The offensive and defensive patterns of Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan are sights to behold for many years now due to its continuity and fluidity. Until an unusual occurrence this season saw the Jazz dropped five straight games and surrendered the Northwest Division leadership to the surging Oklahoma City Thunder. For sure, there is something wrong with the seemingly flawless system of Sloan. Jazz star guard Deron Williams says it is frustrating to see the team struggle with its offensive game lately, according to the Deseret News.
“It's just been different. Everybody knew the offense (last season) to start. Everybody understood the spacing and the timing of every play. We haven't really worked on it this year a lot. It's definitely been frustrating, I think, for everybody. We just can't figure out how to get it going, how to start games out better.
“We just haven't had a game, where everything seems right, the whole offense is flowing and guys are just coming off when they're supposed to be, screening when they're supposed to be. We just don't have that.”
