After disappointing stints with the Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors, Italian hotshot Marco Belinelli has found a home with the New Orleans Hornets. The 24 year- old Bologna native came into the NBA as a highly regarded prospect and was the 18th pick over-all of the Warriors in the 2007 NBA draft. Belinelli did not enjoy long minutes with the Warriors and was subsequently traded to the Raptors in the summer of 2009, where he also failed to impress. With the Hornets this season, Belinelli has started in all his 38 games so far with career high average of 11.3 points per outing and a .400 clip from three-point distance. Belinelli says he loves everything in the city called Big Easy and and he will be happy if he stays long with the Hornets, according to NBA Fanhouse.
“I'm happy to stay with New Orleans because I love the organization, the team. Yeah, why not (re-sign with New Orleans). With the Hornets, yeah, I'm happy. ... I love the people. I love the coaching staff. It's going to be great.”
