It feels good to witness a jampacked crowd once again for a PBA
game in Metro Manila as the San Miguel Beermen blasted the B-MEG Derby Ace
Llamados, 88-83, to nail down the second semis berth in the Fiesta Conference at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium
tonight. It’s been a longtime since the PBA has this kind of a big crowd.
I was glad that coach Siot Tanquincen was able to pull off
this very important win which I also felt vindicated him from the coaching
controversy that has surrounded the Beermen camp in the past few weeks. So
impressive the victory was for the Beermen as they defeated the Llamados in
their own game of defensive basketball.
In the post-game interview, coach Tanquincen said:
“This is God’s blessing. But I would say the same, we
are going to be judged at what happens after the conference. That’s the reality
we have to face. The challenge is how to handle the break – one thing we didn’t
handle well in the last conference.”
