LOOKING BACK

For sure, Alonzo Mourning will be a future hall-of-famer. The 6-10 Virginia native has a distinguished NBA career which labeled him as one of the greatest defensive centers of all-time. But above all, credit Mourning as a person who knows how to look back and give thanks to special people, who made him what he has become, both as a person and as a hoops legend. Really an admirable trait for this former Georgetown University star who saw action for the Charlotte Hornets, New Jersey Nets and the Miami Heat (where he won an NBA title in 2006) in a 16-year career where he posted averages of 17.1 ppg, 8.5 rpg and 2.8 bpg in 838 total games.

“There were a lot of people that contributed to my success as a person as well as a player. Without those people, I wouldn't be sitting in the position that I'm sitting in today. I think that it's extremely important for people to realize all of the things that other people do for them.”
