Now, there are mixed emotions among Miami Heat fans following the
LeBron James decision. They have seen the last of Michael Beasly in a Heat
uniform. With James now becoming the resident starting small forward of the
Heat, Hoopsworld.com has reported that Miami has announced the trading of Beasly to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Despite the
continuous denials made by Heat President Pat Riley during the past two months that
Beasley would be traded, the inevitable has eventually come into a reality. The
21-year-old former Kansas State standout, who was the number three pick
over-all in the 2008 NBA draft, has career playing averages of 14.3 ppg and 5.9
rpg in two seasons with the Heat.
“For some time the Miami HEAT have been trying to find a taker for
troubled forward Michael Beasley. Tonight HOOPSWORLD has learned that Miami finally found a
trade partner. The Minnesota Timberwolves have agreed to take Beasley off the
HEAT's hands for a second round pick in 2011 and the right to switch first
round picks at a later date.
“The move clears an additional $5 million off of Miami's payroll, a
crucial need as the team seeks to fill in a roster around the newly-acquired
LeBron James and Chris Bosh, as well as the re-signed Dwyane Wade.”
