BEHIND BARS

This is another sad story of an ex-NBA player. Kirk Snyder, the 16th pick over-all in the 2004 rookie draft by the Utah Jazz, was sentenced by an Ohio judge to three years in prison, as reported in the Salt Lake Tribune. The 6-6 former University of Nevada in Reno standout last played for the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2008 before moving to  China during the last two seasons. He will spent time in jail after being convicted of aggravated burglary, felonious assault and assault for breaking into his neighbor’s home.  Snyder has career averages of 6.3 ppg and 2.3 rpg in five seasons with the Jazz, New Orleans Hornets, Houston Rockets and Timberwolves.

An Ohio judge has sentenced a former NBA player to three years in prison for breaking into his neighbors’ home and attacking them.
Warren County Judge Neal Bronson sentenced Kirk Snyder, 26, Wednesday and ordered him to pay $5,550 in restitution.

A jury convicted Snyder in April of aggravated burglary, felonious assault and assault in the March 2009 break-in in Deerfield Township north of Cincinnati. Snyder had pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity but was later found competent to stand trial.”
