TROY MURPHY AND THE CELTICS: A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN

In my January 28, 2011 blog article entitled “Where to, Murphy?”, I cited two teams which Troy Murphy’s game is best suited for, the Boston Celtics and the Orlando Magic. From all indications, Murphy made the right decision in selecting the Celtics as he was signed by the Beantown outfit after the Golden State Warriors, who acquired him from the New Jersey Nets in a trade, decided to buy out his contract. Now, the 6-11 banger out of Notre Dame will add toughness to the inside game of the Celtics as the Eastern Conference pace-setters prepares for a run towards their 18th championship banner. With Boston, Murphy will not only have a chance to appear in post-season play for the first time ever in his pro career but probably win a championship, too. Murphy says he picked the Celtics over the Miami Heat because coach Doc Rivers' system truly fits his game, according to Yahoo! Sports.

“Watching both teams, I fit in better with the way Boston plays, the way they spread the floor, and you know I just like the way that they play. That was the most important factor, going to a team that was going to not only be in the playoffs, but for a long playoff run. Looking at the teams, the Celtics have all the potential to do that.”
