KG CANALETA: THE RETURN OF THE PRODIGAL CHILD
Four-time slam-dunk king KG Canaleta is back to where his pro career had started. Canaleta (together with Jondan Salvador) was re-acquired by the Air21 Express in a trade with B-MEG Derby Ace Llamados for Joe Devance. The 6-6 former University of the East star was drafted by Air21 as the sixth over-all pick in the 2005 PBA rookie draft. He had a sensational rookie season wherein he averaged 16.2 points per game during the All-Filipino Conference. After playing four seasons with the Bert Lina-owned franchise, Canaleta hooked up with the Purefoods TJ Hotdogs before the start of the 2009-10 season. Canaleta is happy to be back with his original team. Express head coach Bong Ramos says adjustment will not be a problem for Canaleta considering that he had already played before with the team, according to the team’s official website.
