BAREA IMPRESSES OBAMA

The brilliant play of the Dallas Mavericks’ diminutive sparkplug, Jose Juan (JJ) Barea in the recently-concluded NBA championship series had made a lot of believers in the capability of the Puerto Rican native. He was a constant thorn to the Heat especially during games five and six, which the Mavs won to close out the series, 4-2 and clinched their first-ever title in 31 years. Barea’s huge performance has the caught the eyes of U.S. President Barack Obama. The American Chief Executive, who is the first U.S. president to visit Puerto Rico in 50 years, says he admired the consistency in the game of the 5-10 spitfire, according to ESPN.

“That guy can play.”
