SLAM PRESENTS LEBRON/ KOBE

I would like to welcome back the Montenegro couple (my sis Mimie and bro-in-law Arnold), who are back home and fresh from a much-deserving three-day Hongkong sojourn. They likewise brought me home a SLAM PRESENTS special collector’s issue magazine featuring the two biggest NBA stars of today in Lebron James and Kobe Bryant, for which I’m very thankful. According to SLAM Editor Ben Osborne, it took them sometime to finish the magazine, which gathers stories on the hoop careers of these two future Hall-of-Famers from their prep days to their current status as NBA superstars. 

“SLAM’s publisher and I—with the backing of the rest of our staff—have been wanting to do an issue like this (flip covers, 100 pages, with each guy getting 50, and a dope pullout poster in the middle to separate them) for a good 18 months now. But it took time to gather up the stories, build up the photo archives, and get Nike on board with some ad support. We finally got all the key commitments around late March and slotted this in to drop during the Conference Finals. Well, here we are.
