ONE TO GO

Alaska Aces head coach Tim Cone continues his mastery of the Ginebra Gin Kings in the PBA playoffs. They swept the Gin Kings in four games during the Philippine Cup semis and are now up two games to nil in the best-of-five PBA Fiesta Cup quarterfinal series. Diamon Simpson, Joe Devance and Cyrus Baguio combined for 65 points while quarterback LA Tenorio had another brilliant game as the Aces walloped the Gin Kings, 84-82 last night at the Cuneta Astrodome. They will try to close out the series with a 3-0 sweep on Wednesday. Cone was all-praised for his dynamic duo of Tenorio and Devance with their heads-up play in the clutch.

"LA was more creative. He created a lot of things for us while Joe had good finishes.”

"It was one heck of a game. Both teams were not about to give in until the final buzzer sounded, so this win is certainly a proud win for us. The past two games all came down to the last possession and I expect the next three could be either way as well. Still, the idea is to play solid on Wednesday and we hope to close things out."
