Coach Stan Van Gundy has the all-out support and confidence of the Orlando Magic. According to the Orlando Sentinel, Both Van Gundy and General Manager Otis Smith had their respective contracts with the Magic extended up to the 2012-13 season. This means that the title aspirations of the Magic will remain in the hands of Van Gundy. He led the Magic to the finals in 2009 and to the Conference semis this past campaign. The 50 year-old California native has an NBA career coaching record of 282-149 win-loss record (.654) in six seasons with the Miami Heat and the Magic.
"The Orlando Magic will put their title hopes into the hands of coach Stan Van Gundy and General Manager Otis Smith for a while longer.
"The Magic will announce Wednesday that Van Gundy and Smith have had their contracts extended through the 2012-13 season."
