WAIT AND SEE

Due to limited salary cap space, Boston Celtics General Manager Danny Ainge is having a hard time signing free agent prospects. According to Ainge, as reported in the Boston Herald.com, despite his use of winning as leverage to attract prospects, the lure of money continues to be the major obstacle, thus turning everything into a “wait-and-see” game. Among those who were targeted by Ainge includes Brad Miller (who went to Houston), Matt Barnes (who joined Toronto) and Shannon Brown (still undecided). Ainge still remains hopeful though.

“It’s just a waiting time right now. Some teams have a lot of money left to spend, and we have to wait them all out. That’s never been enough to prevent guys from making money. It’s always hard to gauge. We just have to wait and see. There are still good players out there.”
