ENDING THE DROUGHT

Team USA has not won the FIBA World Basketball Championships for the last 16 years. The last time they won the title was in 1994 in Toronto, Canada. That seems so ancient considering that the team was led by Joe Dumars (current Detroit Pistons GM) and Reggie Miller (now TV analyst). Jerry Colangelo, Team Director of USA Basketball, however, told ESPN that they are set to leave no stone unturned in their quest to end the drought in the coming edition in Turkey next month.

"For us, winning the world championship is a big deal. We haven't done it in a long time; we haven't done it since we've been together -- we lost one game since we've been together, and it still bothers us because you never forget certain things. So we're motivated."
