NO GERMAN BOMBER IN FIBA WORLD TILT


2007 NBA MVP Dirk Nowitzki had decided not to play for Germany in the coming FIBA World Basketball Championships in Turkey next month and this is a welcome news and one-less obstacle for Team USA's campaign. The 32 year-old “German Bomber” said that his priority right now are the Dallas Mavericks, where he signed a new contract recently. Additionally, another German reliable, center Chris Kaman of the Los Angeles Clippers, will likewise skip the said tourney. However, Nowitzki has committed himself to play for the German National team in next year’s Euro qualifiers for the 2012 London Olympics.


"I have signed a new contract with the Dallas Mavericks. We have a new team with new conditions and I want to set my focus on the next NBA season this summer.

"Next year, I will help the team reach our big goal to participate at the Olympics again.”
