Last second nail biting wins are fast becoming a habit for the Rain Or Shine Elasto Painters in the ongoing PBA Philippine Cup. Last night, ROS stop the 3-game winning streak of Talk N Text Tropang Texters on a jumper by star guard Sol Mercado with 1.5 ticks to go, 95-93, for its second win in four starts. It was almost a repeat performance of their first win where the sweet-shooting Jeff Chan, who is being hailed as the second coming of the “triggerman”, buried a 3-point jumper with no time left to beat the Air21 Express, 89-86. Mecado says he was able to pull-off the winning jumper when defender Jason Castro of TNT sagged, thinking the former will go in for a drive.
“Jason was denying me the whole game. When I got the ball (from the inbounds), he was playing me for the drive. I did set up for the drive and took it off when he sagged.”
