In a close battle for the final roster spot of the Boston Celtics, guard Von Wafer nosed out Stephane Lasme and Mario West in the last playing day of the pre-season games. It was really a tough choice for the Celtics as coach Doc Rivers admitted Lasme has a great shot of making the team two weeks ago. With everything now settled, Wafer says he is not only contented of just making the team but is looking forward to play vital minutes and help the Celtics cause, according to the Boston Herald.
“It’s been a great experience. It’s been fun. It’s been good to get back out there on the court. Just making the team is not enough for me. I’ve been playing in the NBA five years and I’ve been sitting on the bench for four. You just can’t get better sitting on the bench. I want to play, bottom line.”
