The San Antonio Spurs usually start to play serious ball right after the all-star weekend in February, but not anymore this season. The Spurs have to start winning in the early months of the season. Future hall-of-famer Tim Duncan says with the powerful cast among the Western Conference teams, the Spurs can not afford to experiment with various rotations during the early months of the campaign and should start winning right away, according to San Antonio Express-News. And they did started on the right track, winning their opening game against the Indiana Pacers, 122-109.
“In the past, we allowed ourselves the opportunity to start slow and get used to everybody. As good as the West is, we're going to have to start well.”
