ARE THE KINGS CUDDLING COUSINS TOO MUCH?

For instigating a brawl with teammate Donte Greene, the Sacramento Kings has imposed a fine of unspecified amount on rookie forward DeMarcus Cousins as penalty for his latest misbehavior act. Now, the question is how can you show this kid the real meaning of professionalism if you will just give him a light tap on the shoulders for every misdemeanor he commit? Not a few were surprised that the 20 year-old Cousins was spared a suspension by the Kings.

The 6-11 newbie has good potentials to become a great future NBA frontliner but how can he reach that point if he massively lacks the maturity and discipline required in a pro player. His latest outburst is no simple matter and the best thing the Kings organization could have done is suspend him for at least three games without pay and assign him for several games with their NBA D-league affiliate, the Reno Bighorns, just to teach him a lesson. Once the pro career of Cousins has gone haywire, the Kings would be partly responsible for it. This early, it would serve the Kings better if they choose to straighten things out with the talented but immature former University of Kentucky stalwart rather than cuddling him too much.
