NBA D-LEAGUE SLAM DUNK KING L.D. WILLIAMS TO FLY HIGH WITH THE ALASKA ACES

There is life at all after Eddie Basden for the Alaska Aces. Basden failed to meet the height limit of 6-4 for the PBA Second Conference by measuring 6’4 ¼. The Aces had no other choice but to release the highly touted ex-Chicago Bulls swingman. Now comes their replacement import in former Wake Forest standout Larry Demetrius (L.D.) Williams, the 2011 NBA D-League Slam Dunk Champion. Williams averaged 8.4 ppg and 4.1 rpg in four years with the Demon Deacons. Williams played 23 games this season for the Springfield Armor in the NBA D-League and submitted norms of 10.8 ppg and 3.7 rpg. Last month, he won the inaugural NBA D-League Showcase Slam Dunk competition by beating Chris Johnson of the Dakota Wizards in the finals. Williams was described as a solid scorer with amazing leaping ability during his college playing days, according to Wake Forest Sports.

“Intense and vocal leader. Possessed an amazing leaping ability and was one of the best dunkers in the nation. Solid scorer who could knock down medium-range jumpers.”
