HUMPHRIES SHINES IN NEW JERSEY

One of the few bright spots in the New Jersey Nets this season is the improved game of power forward Kris Humphries. The 6-9 former University of Minnesota stalwart is currently having a career season with the Nets. Humphries is submitting career-high norms of 8.8 ppg and 9.4 rpg in 45 outings so far with the Nets. He has also started at the number four position in 27 games. Obviously, his game has flourished under Nets head coach Avery Johnson. With Humphries set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, Johnson says he wants the Minnesota native to stay with the Nets and be a big part of the team’s future, according to ESPN.

“We want Humphries back. With what the Nets are all about and where we're going, Humphries is our kind of player. We've told him that. I've told him 'We'd love to have you a part of our program as we move forward.”
