All-star forward David West of the New Orleans Hornets do not need any distraction this coming season as even contract talks will have to take a backseat until the conclusion of the 2010-11 campaign. West says everything takes a backseat to winning as he focus in leading the Hornets to a successful season, according to NOLA.com.

“I’m looking to go in and make the best decision in terms of my future. I plan on just playing this year and doing all I can to help this team improve and have a successful year. I don’t want to limit myself and base everything on emotion. It can make you weak.”
