UP FOR GRAB

Wayne Ellington
The battle for the starting shooting guard position of the Minnesota Timberwolves is up for grab. From a 3-way fight among Martell Webster, Corey Brewer and rookie Wesley Johnson, it has now become a 4-deep race with the impressive performance in the pre-season of Wayne Ellington. Timberwolves head coach Kurt Rambis admits Ellington is a revelation and playing very well lately although he has not given the minutes yet to the 6-4 sophomore guard out of the University of North Carolina, according to the Pioneer Press.

“His dumb coach hasn't given him the amount of time to show what he can do out there. What we saw him do as a starter and in the late-game situations, that's the way he's been playing in practice. He's been playing very well. I just haven't given him the time.”
