D-Wade will no longer
be called the "Flash"
starting this season. |
Starting this season, the tag “Flash” will no longer be attached to Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat. Wade says it’s time to make do without the super-hero nickname and he wants people to call him just by his real name, according to The Palm Beach Post. Wade has been popularly known as the “Flash” since his rookie year in 2003-04.
“It’s not me no more. I’m just going in a different direction. I’ve just been thinking about it a lot, and I just want people to respect me for who I am, and not a character….. I’m moving on. I’m getting older and I’m moving into a different phase of my life.”
