The Portland Trail Blazers will not release Rudy Fernandez. That’s it, period. With so much investment in the Spanish guard dating back to the 2007 draft, both Paul Allen, the team owner, and General Manager Rich Cho, has said Fernandez is not going anywhere, according to Portland Tribune. Fernandez is currently seeing action for the Blazers in the ongoing pre-season games, averaging 13.4 ppg. His agent, Gerard Darnes says the 6-6, Palma de Mallorca native, still wants to return to Spain, but admit things have not changed since they requested the release.

“Things haven’t changed. He still desires to go back to Spain. But he is being professional, being correct with everybody. His teammates are treating him great. He’s thankful for that.”
