It was truly a golden night for the Golden State Warriors
fans as new head coach (and former PBA import) Keith Smart and his new look Warriors made an auspicious debut
in the NBA pre-season as they walloped the Los Angeles Clippers by 40 big
points, 127-87, at the Oracle Arena in Oakland.
The Warriors' talented backcourt duo of Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry combined
for 40 points as Smart commended the amazing effort displayed by the Bay Area
outfit on both ends of the court, according to NBA.com. Portent of things to
come for the new-look Warriors?
“I loved the fact that we scrambled. We got to our
spots. When a guy got beaten, we didn't just stop. We kept pursuing the next
effort. The good defensive teams in the league, they have three or four efforts
when a play breaks down. Hopefully, our group can keep developing to that
point.”
