THE DEAN CONCURS

My video and article about Team Greece drew a reaction from no other than leading basketball TV analyst and PhilStar columnist Quinito Henson. “The Dean” agrees that Greece, with no NBA player in its lineup, would be the darkhorse contender in the coming FIBA World Basketball Championships scheduled to tip-off on Saturday in Istanbul, Turkey. Henson also mentioned that recent Manila visitor, Miami Heat Fil-Am head coach Erik Spoelstra said that the new “Three Kings” (LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh) might all possibly play together once again for Team USA to defend the gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics.

“Hi Boyet, I consider Greece to be the darkhorse contender with lots of international experience and no NBA player---that may be an advantage or disadvantage. Check out my recent column on the World Championships. By the way, coach Spo said the US public has little interest in the World Championships and predicted Wade,Bosh and LeBron will be back on the Olympic team in London.”
