Smart Gilas Team Pilipinas head coach Rajko Toroman was quite impressed and proud of his wards in an 81-80 defeat to host Lebanon in the semi-finals of the FIBA-Asia Stankovic Cup in Beirut. The undermanned Nationals rallied from ten-points down in the last six minutes only to fall short of an upset win. But still, Toroman was a happy man after the game in which he said was the best game played by the team since he became the head mentor, according to the PhilStar.

“We played the best game since I became coach of the Smart Gilas. The game was great. Lebanon played good, the fighting spirit of the players was there, which I didn’t see in a long time.”
