EYES ON A CHAMPIONSHIP

It is not in the style of Miami Heat Filipino-American head coach Erik Spoelstra to be affected by what others think or say about his team. And Spoelstra also do not care about issues of other teams. The focus of Spoelstra lies exclusively on the coming training camp which is set to open next week. Once the camp and pre-season games are over, it’s time to focus on winning the championship for a team highly equipped with power led by the new “Three Kings” in mainstay Dwyane Wade and highly-touted recruits LeBron James and Chris Bosh. Spoelstra said this is a new version of the Heat, much improved from the two other squads which he had handled in South Florida since 2008, according to SI.com.

“The Miami Heat was a much different brand this summer. Every single franchise in this league, if they had the opportunity to sign three players the way we were able to, they would have without any hesitation," Spoelstra said Friday in an interview with The Associated Press. "So everything else that everybody is saying, at first it was hard for us to understand. But that's how this team is going to be viewed.

“We have enough issues that we're focusing on. I'm not going to comment on other teams. And other teams have enough issues of their own to get ready for the season, without worrying about what we did or what we're doing, to keep them busy. I wish training camp started three weeks ago.”
