WATCH OUT FOR NO. 86

No. 86 Celtics jersey.
After Hedo Turkoglu of the Phoenix Suns and Ersan Ilyasova of the Milwaukee Bucks, another Turkish is set to make a big splash in the NBA. Semih Erden, who saw action with Turkoglu and Ilyasova for the silver-medal winners Turkey in the recently-concluded FIBA Worlds, will finally play with the Boston Celtics next season. The 6-11 Istanbul native was the 60th pick over-all by the Celtics in the 2008 draft but elected to stay home and continue playing in the Turkish pro circuit. Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge like what he saw in Erden during the two-week quadrennial event, according to ESPN. Ainge said what he saw in Erden is a confident player who works hard, passes well and is full of energy. He will be wearing jersey number 86 for the men in green.

“I really liked what I saw. I thought Semih played with great energy and confidence. Semih's a player. He plays hard, he plays with energy. He definitely made a handful of nice passes.”
