Team Serbia
finally paraded a complete roster in their 94-79 win over dangerous Australia in Group A action at the FIBA World Championships in Turkey.
NBA veteran slotman Nenad Krstic reported for duty for the first time after serving his
three-game FIBA suspension and collected 14 points and 10 rebounds. Serbia coach
Dusan Ivkovic said stopping the Aussies’ transition and inside games were the
keys to the victory that clinched a spot in the next round of the quadrennial
event, according to SI.com. He now looks forward of meeting powerhouse Argentina in the last playing day of the initial group stages.
“Our first objective was to stop their (Australia) transition game and not give them
easy baskets. The second objective was to stop their inside game. We were
partially successful in the first objective and completely successful in the
second.
"It's a great opportunity to play against a team (Argentina) that has given so much to world basketball in the last 10 years. We need games like this, my young team has the future in front of it. We don't really care what place we finish in the group."
