Team China's Yi Jianlian defends
against Lithuania. |
Yi Jianlian said Team China gave it their all but the effort still fell short as they ended their FIBA World Championships campaign with a 78-67 defeat to European powerhouse Lithuania, according to the Washington Post. China went down fighting until the very end. The game saw the Chinese squad raced to an early 11-point lead until Lithuania caught fire in the last quarter.
“We tried to fight today. That game was tough, between a very good team. We played very good in the beginning, but Lithuania played with emotion, played hard defense, very high quality offense. We made some mistakes, you know. With a good team, when you make some mistakes, it's tough to win.”
