Team USA celebrates after winning
over Angola, 121-66. |
Despite winning by 55 big points over Angola, 121-66, Kevin Durant and the rest of Team USA will not take things easy in the knockout stage of the FIBA World Championships in Turkey, according to ESPN.com. Durant said they are still a long way to go in their quest for their first World title in 16 years. In his short stint thus far with the Nationals, the NBA leading scorer has seen it all and he thinks that the oppositions are getting better and stronger as the tournament goes on.
“We have a long ways to go, but this was a steppingstone for us. Coming into this tournament, we wanted to win four [elimination] games, go 4-0. That's our goal. We're 1-0 now, and everybody knows the opposing teams are going to get better and better, and they're watching us. But we're looking forward to that competition.”
